CLEANING UP THE BEETLE KILL

The Spruce Bark Beetle has killed many of the old growth spruce trees in Cathedral Park and the Cathedral Lakes Lodge property. BC Parks and the lodge are trying to deal with this potentially hazardous situation by removing many of the dead trees and "fire smarting" the areas around the campgrounds and lodge.

If you would like to spend a few weeks at the lodge this summer helping us with this program we are accepting volunteers. We offer accommodation in one of our newly renovated staff cabins and all meals at the lodge in exchange for five-hour per day work removing down and dead trees.

For this program we ask that you commit to at least two weeks of work this coming summer or fall..
